Why “Turn The Page”?

"Turn the Page"(TTP) actually came about as a side project for our original Southern Rock band, “The Sam Morrison Band”. We'd been playing for many biker type events and needed to add a few Southern/Classic Rock cover songs. We played a couple of Bob Seger tunes at the time and the response we got was UNBELIEVABLE!

People continually commented on how much I sounded like Bob Seger and it was obvious that everyone LOVED his music. No matter where we would perform, we constantly received requests to do more and more Bob Seger. It became clear right away that we could fill a whole night with Bob Seger requests and still not get to everyone’s favorite! He has so many great hits songs and since he (Bob) had not toured in over 11 years, everyone missed hearing the material "Live".

That's when the idea for "Turn the Page" began. We decided to add a keyboard player, 2 female back-up singers and a sax player in order to fully re-create the “Bob Seger Live Experience” and see what would happen. The response has been nothing short of incredible.

It’s amazing to see how today’s younger generation are discovering the classic rock bands we grew up with. Everywhere you look you see Jr. High aged kids wearing Led Zepplin and AC/DC T-Shirts. The new Guitar Hero video game is fueling the fire even more. The new TV spot for Guitar Hero features Bob Seger’s song “Old Time Rock and Roll” and we’re seeing the kids go crazier than the adults when we play that one!

The bottom line is that Bob Seger’s music is more popular now than ever. Since he no longer tours, our show is the only way a lot of people will ever experience these classic songs “Live”. We’ve been doing this show for
over four years and have toured all over the US, and the crowds just keep getting bigger.

We recently signed a record deal with Titan Tribute Media to record 3 CD’s of Bob Seger’s Greatest Hits. Producer Michael Vail Blum (who has worked with Madonna, Pink Floyd, Kelly Clarkson, …..the list goes on) discovered that the kids going to see the live tribute shows not only loved the music but that they wanted to have the music from “their” band as well. Our first CD is available now on Itunes and all over the internet and is doing unbelievably well!
It truly is an honor to perform the music that has been part of people’s lives now for over forty years. It just goes to show ya:

EVERYONE “Still likes that Old Time Rock and Roll!”
